Well it is almost a year since we posted anything, Since then Sadies has been having a well earned Holiday as Yasmin moved to Seniors and having worked at Mark Buntings, moving on to Hartpury College and then to Daniel Delsart's in Northampton for 10 weeks, she is now home and finally agreed to let Sadie go back and compete by either a sale or Loan with a view to buy.. Thus concentrate on Lyndel Firestarter and , Bijou Van De Blokken, with another new Mare on the way.
With Sadie is approaching 14/15, we have decided to let her move on where her limit will be 1m, as she clearly still wants to be active but with limitations.
Yasmin was delighted to be offered a post for the summer riding for Mark Bunting in Warwickshire. She was asllowed to take Dolly with her and delighted on her first day to take on three horses under the guidance of MArk and is keeping them and several others fit until Mark returns from Holland next week.
Sadie (sedusa) continues to have a long over due rest in Great Leighs.
November and December saw us enter several Competitions and Sadie was placed in all, in particular two 2nd places at Pachesham and a fantastic 2nd place in the Foxhunter at Felbridge, this means Yasmin now has the requirements for Hartpury college having won money now at all levels to 1.20 on Sadie. Sadly the time has come for us to now move onto Horses so we will reluctantly have to sell Sadie. This is not as sad as it seems, as this little girl always wants to compete and will provide many more years of fun for the next Junior who takes her on. So Sedusa the Show jumping pony is now for sale.

As we approach the end of September and Holidays all over, we have taken started competing in the 2011-2012 league. Not a bad start ending in August with a 1st and 2nd at Towerlands and going to Felbridge of Sunday and getting a good 1st place and narrowly beaten to 2nd place in 1m newcomers. Sadie is jumping well and Yasmin is benefiting from the lessons with Sam Ward. Rosie and Ruby, are progressing well, but Ruby till has some work to go before competing. Rosie, I am sure will be in the places very shortly.
Last couple of weeks we have been to Norton Heath getting Ruby and Rosie ready for Tom and Deneka. Both are doing well, with Rosie certainly ready to compete, finishes 3rd behind Sedusa yesterday, by a second, but clearly has the power to go much faster, so Sedusa will have to watch out. Sedusa, was good as gold yesterday and back to her best all be it a little unfit. Ruby, is still a baby, and learning the rope, 1st time outside , and struggled with doubles and triples, but has the potential, just more practice.
Well, we have been away for such a long time, Sadie has been rested due to various commitments since March 26th and had her first trial run out this week at Unafiliated @Norton Heath July 13th and came 1st in the 75cm....Nothing changes :)........Although a comfortable height for her, she cruised around like she owned the place and put on a late spurt to do a fast jump off time . Now we will get her ready for First affiliated Competition In August 4-7th at Towerlands, after another trial an Unaffiliated Finchingfield this weekend. July 16th. And a coupleof more Unaffiliated at Norton heath at 85cm.
In January we went to Longwood in Basildon and had a good 2nd place against the usual team of horses that Toni Evans brings along so good day , on the 2oth we went in the new horse box to Forest Edge for the weekend, although very cold at night we had great fun. The dogs loved the Forest and Yasmin had to be on her best game as there were plenty of competitors, Peasleys had their usual selection of top Ponies, so a 3rd place over the weekend could have been better, but good fun anyway.
Jan 30th we drove 2 hours down to the Sussex coast to Golden Cross and had a great day, very friendly staff and nice arena, sunny day and lots of competitors. Over 25 in Yasmin's 90cm class and we achieved a creditable 5th in 90cm open having led most of the way, in the 1m, Yasmin had a comfortable clear round, and then excelled in the jump off taking the lead as 4th out of 9 in the jump off and leading until the last, who cut all the corners and rode a good 1st place putting Yaz into 2nd, very exciting and earned with another £30 winning.
In December we went to Keysoe and had an eventful day , breaking down in the lorry park at 12 noon, meant Yasmin had to organise herself with Granny whilst i was away the whole afternoon sorting the trailer and car out, when i returned, i was greeted with a £70 winnings form two 1st places, fantastic results, and ended the day nicely as we were towed home!!
Last two weekends have been interesting, following our 1st place at Longwood, we travelled to Fellbridge in Surrey. This is a nice location and although cold and windy, Yasmin and Sadie looked ok, and performed ok, so much so that Yasmin could have comfortably taken a top 3 place , had it not been for a little lack of concentration and jumping an incorrect fence. These things happen, and that is the 1st time she has ever done that! Always baffles me why these kids don't do it more often as I have trouble remembering the course especially, in the jump offs, never mind another lesson learned.
Nov 13th and 14th took us to Grantham to Laughton Manor, and again apart from Yas taking a wrong turn, we would have comfortably taken a top 3 place. Our preparation was not good, over rugging Sadie meant she had lost bucket fulls of sweat on the journey up and we had to take it easy with her. All things considered, Yas did very well, but is starting to question her technique.
Sunday was at Norton Heath, a very competitive event with over 30 starters in both 90cm and 1m , YAsmin did very well, although concerned about Sadie losing a shoe on our way. Things are just not quite going right at the moment, but that's how it goes , perhaps we have had it too easy up to now! Yasmin decided that she would withdraw from the 1m as she was not happy, so we left early and plan a few lessons to see what's wrong. Personally I cannot see much wrong, apart form a couple of riding mistakes by Yas and a little better preparation we would have taken 2 positions in the last two weekends.
Arrived for the first time to Longwood equestrian Centre is Basildon Essex, very small arena, and usual suspects in attendance, decided to warm Sadie up on the 80cm Open as she had not been competing regularly, double clear, but not in good time, but suitably warmed up for 90cm Open, wher we finished 1st Place good day and onto Felbridge surrey tomorrow.
